About Seoul
Seoul, the dynamic capital of South Korea, stands as a distinguished center of political, economic, and cultural life in East Asia.
With a population of almost 10 million and a legacy as Korea’s capital for over six centuries, Seoul offers a unique environment where tradition and modernity coexist within a dynamic economic framework.
Nestled along the Han River, Seoul offers an extraordinary urban experience – blending ancient palaces and serene temples with cutting edge skyscrapers and digital infrastructure.
Seoul’s global cultural prominence is further underscored by its role as the birthplace of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), including K-pop, cinema, and contemporary art, which continue to shape global cultural discourse.
Each year, the city welcomes millions of international visitors and plays host to numerous academic, scientific, and policy conferences.
